Do you love your voice?

Do you feel you have the capacity to receive?

Do you believe you can be compassionate with others and with yourself?

Do you experience that you can hear and fall in love with an unfamiliar voice?

The truth is that you can fall in love with your voice and you can fall in love with that voice of the infinite that comes through you because you yourself are that voice of God. Yes, you! Sing, chant, and create the vastness! Do things for yourself that relaxes you so that you can feel compassionate, not uptight. Have you ever met somebody who is both uptight and compassionate? I don’t think so! They simply don’t co-mingle. You are either one or the other. So knowing this, you must remember to do something for yourself that allows you to have the space to communicate with yourself. Take a bath. Go to the spa. These quiet and relaxing activities will do the job.

There’s already so much noise in our life that blocks communication, and we add to the din by switching on gadgets like the TV, the iPod and other electronic noisemakers wherever we are. We have all these things making noise simultaneously and so we can’t hear ourselves think! There always seems to be an email to be answered or a call to be taken. There is always something to distract us. What you need is time to attract, and to attract yourself first. If you don’t take the time to commune with your own being by creating your own sacred silence, you lose the ability to be sensitive to what others are trying to say to you. You also lose the ability to hear or trust your own intuition.

My daughter is in med school and facing this incredible challenge to her health at the same time. She has to balance her time between studying, getting enough sleep and meditating to try to change the frequency of what is going on with her. This effort makes all the difference in this troubled society of ours that keeps us off balance and unaware. So don’t wait until you get some huge disease before you get a realization or epiphany to establish communication with the Infinite. In order to realize how deeply important you are in life in spite of all the distractions around you, create sacred spaces for yourself where you will hear what’s truly important coming from the spirit. It’s called “Allowing the Divine to Romance You.”

“I don’t even know what to say!” somebody said to me one day when I shared what was happening with my daughter. I replied, “That is the most truthful response there is, because there really is nothing to say. There is only the way to pray, meditate, and be one with that communion of light.” Although sometimes there isn’t anything to be said, if we always feel we don’t know what to say, it means we have lost our ability to commune with ourselves. Our old concept of romance aside, communion is not just between us and someone else.
